We provide prompt verbal and physical assistance to clients for showering, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, using utensils, dressing, and wearing shoes.
We encourage and prompt clients to enhance their independent living skills through daily chores. They can choose from tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal.
We support clients in managing their finances, budgeting, and making purchases. Regular store visits facilitate personal item procurement. Emphasis is placed on fostering gainful employment for clients.
Clients receive mobility training for public bus or Access services, including address and phone number awareness, and safe crosswalk usage. They enjoy outings of their choice like movies, restaurants, parks, malls, beaches, bowling, and more.
Clients are instructed in expressive language using signs, gestures, or simple words. They are provided with pictures and books to facilitate communication with others.
Clients learn to express appropriate emotions, including anger, fear, excitement, happiness, and boredom. They are encouraged to engage socially with peers, staff, and at community events to enhance their social interactions.
Clients are encouraged in exercise and healthy eating. Timely transportation provided for medical and dental appointments. They learn medication names and potential side effects.
Clients choose activities at the facility: arts and crafts, puzzles, books, DVDs, music, games. Their interests are valued and encouraged to be shared.
Clients' rights are read and posted during annual review. Advocacy assistance is offered. Staff ensures clients are treated with dignity and respect.
South County Care II specializes in serving clients with severe behavior problems. A behavior plan will be provided within 30 days of placement, using positive reinforcement and enriching activities to address challenging behaviors.
